Prominent Staff from Bush, McCain, and Romney Camps Unite Behind Harris in Groundbreaking Endorsement!

In an unprecedented political move, hundreds of former staffers from George W. Bush, John McCain, and Mitt Romney’s presidential campaigns have publicly endorsed Democratic Vice-Presidential candidate Kamala Harris. This endorsement is monumental; it’s not every day that individuals cross party lines so emphatically. However, these political heavyweights argue that it’s imperative to put country over party at such a critical juncture.

Former staffers from George W. Bush’s administration have been particularly vocal in their endorsement of Harris. They founded a group called “43 Alumni for Biden,” consisting of around hundreds of members. In a press release, the group stated that they were proud to support Joe Biden, indicating they are moved by Biden’s decision to have Harris on his ticket.

Much of their sentiments regarding their endorsement stem from their belief that the nation’s current state requires an advocate for unity, humanity, and the rule of law. Many stated that while they may not align completely with Biden and Harris’s policy positions, they feel the Democratic candidates embody those principles better than their party’s current leadership.

In addition to “43 Alumni for Biden,” another prominent group called Romney Alumni for Biden have also shown support for Harris. The group comprised of former Romney 2012 campaign and administration staffers, felt compelled due to what they perceive as a threat to the very fabric of democracy.

Former McCain staffers have also joined the chorus. They cited McCain’s lifelong commitment to national service and his belief in the importance of working together for the country’s benefit, regardless of party affiliation. McCain, a beloved senator known for reaching across the aisle, is emblematic of the bipartisan support that these conservatives are now throwing behind the Democratic ticket.

Notably, the endorsement extends beyond campaign and administration staff. A group called Republicans for a New President was launched, a collection of GOP donors, activists, and operatives advocating for a change in the country’s leadership.

The endorsements of Harris by former staffers from the Republican party demonstrate a prominent recurring theme: the belief in bipartisanship and putting the country before political parties. These voices worry about how the country’s division may harm the democratic institution and are supporting candidates whom they believe can restore unity and civility to Washington.

In their view, Harris is a qualified and seasoned public servant who can lead the nation during these challenging times. Being the first woman of color on a major party ticket itself historical significance. Yet what made her standout in the eyes of these endors
