In a major push to get former Vice President Joe Biden on the ballot in New Hampshire, his supporters have announced the launch of a massive write-in campaign.
The effort comes after the Biden campaign announced that they would be foregoing the state’s primary ballot, and instead opting to focus resources and attention on the debates ahead of the March 3 primary. Many had initially hoped that Biden could make a late surge in the state, however, the campaign’s decision to forgo the primary ballot has forced supporters to take matters into their own hands.
As part of the new push, Biden supporters in New Hampshire have launched an official website – castaballotforbiden.org – that encourages potential voters to write-in the former Vice President’s name on their ballot. The website provides resources and information to help inform potential write-in voters on how they can cast their ballot and make sure it is properly documented.
Furthermore, the group is actively hosting events and rallies in order to drum up more support. They have partnered with the state’s local Democratic groups to help spread the word and organize more get out the vote efforts.
The Biden write-in campaign is also enlisting help from volunteers and activists across the state. The group has launched a statewide canvassing initiative, in which they are encouraging Biden supporters to reach out to potential voters and inform them of the opportunity for them to write-in Biden during the state’s primary.
The Biden write-in effort in New Hampshire is certainly an ambitious undertaking. While the campaign will likely not be able to overcome the odds and make a big impact on the state’s primary results, it certainly highlights the strength of the former Vice President’s supporters in the Granite State.
